Supervisors

Supervisor

Shujiang Li, Ph.D.

李淑江

Professor-level Senior Engineer · Master’s Supervisor

First Institute of Oceanography, Ministry of Natural Resources

Works on regional ocean dynamics and ocean observation technology, including Indo-Pacific exchange observations, coastal and open-ocean three-dimensional observing systems, and hydrographic survey engineering. Has led more than 20 research projects and served as chief scientist on over 10 major cruises, including the China–Indonesia joint expedition.

Supervisor

Xunwei Nie, Ph.D.

聂珣炜

Associate Researcher · Master’s Supervisor

First Institute of Oceanography, Ministry of Natural Resources

Works on large-scale ocean circulation, water masses, and changes in ocean thermohaline structure. His research combines observations and numerical modelling to understand upper-ocean variability in the Indian and Pacific oceans, including marine heatwaves.

Special thanks

Hao Liu, Ph.D.

刘浩

Assistant Researcher

Institute of Oceanographic Instrumentation, Shandong Academy of Sciences, Qilu University of Technology

Special thanks to Dr. Hao Liu for his support and helpful discussions on marine heatwave research. His work examines compound marine heatwaves and sea surface salinity extremes in the tropical Pacific.

Special thanks

Haidong Pan, Ph.D.

潘海东

Associate Researcher · Master’s Supervisor

First Institute of Oceanography, Ministry of Natural Resources

Special thanks to Dr. Haidong Pan for his support and assistance with tidal dynamics and ocean data analysis. He develops tidal harmonic analysis tools and studies multi-timescale tidal variability.
